My Story -
My childhood was not an easy one. I came into this life besieged by fears, phobias and nightmares. Up until my early twenties I suffered from
depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsiveness. I became good at hiding it, outwardly presenting the face of a smart girl with lots of personality
and a quick sense of humor, while my inner world was a dark, unhappy place.
Then right before my twenty-fourth birthday, my world turned upside down when my father died from a sudden heart attack. The absolute shock of it
made me start questioning the meaning of life in ways I’d never done. And amazingly, I started getting answers. It wasn't literally like someone talking
to me, but rather I would meet people or stumble onto situations that led me from one thing to another until I finally found myself in the world of
spirituality, metaphysics, theosophy, and healing. And a light turned on inside me.
It was wonderful. It was the beginning of a new life. I began realizing I was a spiritual being with a connection to something greater than myself.
There was so much courage and empowerment in knowing I wasn’t alone and that every good thing was possible. It was the first time ever that
I felt stirrings of deep-down happiness.
The longer I walked the spiritual path – which I call the Path of Wholeness – the more I studied, learned and practiced, the brighter the light became.
It erased the darkness of my youth, replaced the past with soul-filling hope, love and joy, and gave me my life’s purpose.
Over the years, the more I’ve learned and experienced, the greater my desire has become to help others free themselves from their limitations,
their pain, and their pasts, as I did - by discovering the light that shines so brightly within each of us and by realizing who we truly are.
My Experience and Training -
I started out working with women’s issues, children’s welfare and social causes. I also wrote about and taught spirituality, healing and personal
growth at Unity centers, Science of Mind churches, hospitals and yoga centers. Then finally, I returned to school for clinical training as a psychotherapist,
and at 45 years old, I received my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling.
That was followed by more than ten years of clinical work with psychiatric agencies, hospitals, and social service agencies; treating substance abuse
and severe mental illness; working with children at risk of institutionalization, and conducting court ordered comprehensive assessments of children
in foster care suffering from abuse and neglect.
I helped a lot of people during that time, but I knew I could have done so much more if I’d been able to use holistic, integrative approaches along with
traditional psychotherapeutic techniques. But the clinical world wasn't open to that yet. So I returned to my roots and started privately practicing the
mind-body-spirit work I knew was the best way to truly help people become emotionally free to create genuinely happy and fulfilling, truly successful,

About Me -
I love what I do! I’ve been helping people turn their negatives into positives for years with my own brand of counseling, integrative psychotherapy, holistic energy healing, spiritual teaching, writing, public speaking and meditations.
More than anything, I want to inspire, empower and motivate you with the knowledge that you absolutely can have the kind of life you want. I want to give you the simplest, most powerful tools to make that happen. That’s why I created ThoughtWatching - a way of thinking and living that doesn't deny the existence of pain and problems, but enables you to feel good no matter what’s going on in your life.
Certainly I'm grateful for all the clinical training and “in-the-trenches” professional experience I've had, but the most important things I’ve learned – and share – come from first-hand experience. It taught me how to cultivate a sense of deep-down happiness that has carried me through some really tough life challenges. It also taught me that even the most positive people have negative thoughts and feelings. The big difference is that positive people don’t let those thoughts and feelings control them.
Because of all the things I've learned, which I would love to share with you, I’ve been able to create the life I live today with my “kids” - two loving dogs and one stand-offish cat. I work out of my condo in an office overlooking an intracoastal waterway where dolphins, stingrays, and manatees often pass by to say hello. It’s a good life I live, but it didn’t start out that way…
